Digital Assets Screening Lead Analyst/Manager

• Oversee real-time financial crime screening of all digital asset transactions, ensuring timely alert triage, escalation, and resolution within SLAs.
• Make risk-based, well-documented decisions on client wallets and transactions, determining outcomes and escalations.
• Lead complex investigations across fiat and digital asset transactions on multiple blockchains, using blockchain analytics to assess risk, source of funds, and exposure to sanctioned entities, mixers, and darknet markets.
• Supervise investigative narratives and escalation packages, referring qualifying cases to 2LOD Financial Crime Compliance for regulatory reporting.
• Define and enhance the 1LOD Target Operating Model (TOM) for digital assets screening, with scalable workflows, staffing models, and controls.
• Develop and maintain 1LOD policies, procedures, training materials, and desktop guides for digital asset AML.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing team of screening analysts and investigators.
• Act as primary 1LOD liaison, partnering with Financial Crime Compliance, Legal, Risk, Technology, and Product teams to optimize screening tools, drive automation, and report risk metrics to senior management.
• Work in a hybrid model (currently up to 2 days working from home per week).

• 8+ years of financial crime compliance, screening, or investigations experience in a large/complex financial institution, digital assets fintech, law firm, or regulatory body.
• 3+ years of hands-on AML investigations and screening for digital assets and cryptocurrency cases.
• Master's degree.
• Proven track record of managing, coaching, and developing teams of financial operations or screening analysts.
• Deep understanding of blockchain mechanics, cryptocurrency transactions, wallet structures, DeFi protocols, and on-chain risk behaviors (mixer usage, chain-hopping, darknet exposure).
• Hands-on proficiency with blockchain analytics platforms: Chainalysis (Reactor/KYT), TRM Labs, Elliptic.
• Understanding of financial markets, banking operations, and traditional payment rails (wire, ACH, check) for fiat-to-crypto investigations.
• Knowledge of BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN, OFAC sanctions, MiCA, and financial crime risk management principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with detail-oriented approach to investigations, case documentation, and alert dispositioning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to make and defend risk-based decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• CAMS, CFE, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
